Bek’s is going to take you through some of the other equipment that you can make use of with the cameras. The session takes place in the TV Studio in Ellen Terry from 1.30pm to 3pm. Ken will be in ICE from just after 5pm to look at the initial edits from the London march.
Use this week to edit as much as you can the material captured on Saturday.
You can make use of the machines in the base room all of this week and into the evening up to 9.30pm.
Ken will be around on Thursday 3rd November 5pm to have a look at your initial edits.
The following week I am going to be available to help with your edits from 2pm on Wednesday 9th of November and all day on Thursday 10th November. I will bring my edited footage which any of you can use for cutaways or b roll.
Hi All Karen has informed me that she will be available to have a first meeting with you this Tuesday 1st November. Karen has worked in documentary and other programming at the BBC as director and producer so has lots of useful experience to help you.
It would be good if you can make an initial meeting with her.
I have pre warned the loan shop that we will be booking cameras for the filming trip to London this Saturday.
I am not able to borrow the equipment for you so you will have to book cameras out on your own student cards.
I think it would be sensible for us to take the two GH2’s and one of the Canon 5d’s. With the remainder as either z1’s or z5’s. I will also try and book on my card two edirol sound recorders to back up the DSLR’s.
For those using the DSLR’s you will need SD cards to record onto. I think the GH2’s have a 16gb card already but am not sure of the card in the Canon 5D’s.
For the Z1’s or Z5’s you will need some mini dv tapes at least three per camera to record necessary shots and interviews.
As absolute final backup I have a sound recorder and my own Sony HD video camera just in case of problems.
I will see you all on Thursday. The FCP intro runs in the ICE base room from 1pm to 3pm. Ken and I will see you afterwards.
Andrew Salt will be giving an introduction to Final Cut Pro on Thursday 27th of October in ICE from 1pm.
Make sure you are on time. The Apple approved Final Cut Pro training book with DVD will also be given to students who attend this session. This is a very useful resource and forms the basis for the Apple Pro Qualification in FCP.
I will be setting up in the Lanchester Gallery in the Graham Sutherland Building projectors and film together with Modul8 software for a private view tonight at 5pm-7pm.
I will come back over to ICE at points to see how you are and for you to come over and meet some of last years MA students. I will pop back to ICE at around 12 to meet you and see how you have got on with your film. There is time over the day to edit your short films in ICE ready to export them before 5pm.
If you see Simi the receptionist with your Student card she will give you a card that you can keep to access the MA base room.
